Hi, long time no chat. As ever, there is a reason to ask There is a young team at #sii that are doing AI stuff that we know is benefit to disabled people (it is a key goal for Wintermute). The young web-dev does bounce his head off the wall trying to keep everything AAA accredited. We use hero, as it was best fit to everything the team needed. I was wondering if you would be so kind to pop onto #sii-website and give AlexAv a bit of encouragement. The other people are wanting all sorts of fancy graphics etc. It would be a great help to him if you point out a couple of sites that maintain 'AAA. A comment from others... ****' if we can avoid having the S.I.I site look like something from Geocities, we should make a good impression ***** (Not from me!). I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and hope that you and those you care for are well. Regards, Phill.
Hi, we have sorta met on couple of threads in the past. I've (very) recently become aware of what 'Rule 508' means on the tools bar for compliance. Whilst XHTLM Strict is pretty 508 compliant, I am in the process of 'tweeking' my tables to add 'headers" in the <th> and <td> areas. I'm using the Tool available in FF (Web Developer) for checking - I don't qualify for a student edition of one of the better checkers, so, if I may ... " questions .. 1) Can you recommend a good checker, or is the one under FireFox okay ?emac reader ubuntu 2) I'd like to further look into supporting 'web-readers', do you know of a good one that I can install onto my ubuntu system. 3) Do/ Should I make an 'aural' CSS based on my print CSS, or are the readers capable of using my normal CSS. The test area lives at http://mgjuddltd.phillw.net If you could let me know if it is somewhere near.. Thanks, Phill.
