I did get a sample file and have ran your code through. The time your code completed the ~ 2100 entries was ~ 5 seconds.

Like I said before, your comments, code formatting, and functions made your code very easy to follow. Also, it seemed like your code trapped the common exceptions, though I did not do a comprehensive check. I will run a comprehensive check on all the candidates at the end of the competition as well as repeating any previous checks if new code has been introduced.
