It's too bad your "places to go that aren't America" thread got closed so fast. I've been wondering that too. But America is really huge anyway... from sub-tropical Florida to arctic Alaska, and mountains and deserts and all that... but it's the CULTURE here is what I want to "escape" for awhile... and soon, before the government takes over the whole freakin' economy, lol.

it's like the perfect site for self declared geeks (or nerds); think of ubuntu forums with a couple thousand extra users, more linux zealots, and moderators randomly selected from the user pool who are reasonable. Plus commenting on user submitted news stories.

just out of curiosity, do you visit slashdot much?
