you seem to know your stuff ,just thought i would give you a shout to say "hello!!!!" i saw your replies to the modem post and this is some of the most complicated problems with linux ,that most users find(myself included).......are you a programmer? do you know c++ as your second language...lol...
well i added you as a friend ,and hopefully you can help me with a problem(the only thing i cant get to install on my laptop)....it is a music creating app called "wired-0.6" and for the life of me ,it wont install from source......hope you can get back to me on this one....well anyway thanks for taking the time out to read this sh**!!

Hi, I have an usb edge modem which I am trying to get it working via wvdial. lsusb shows my modem and i tried these commands :

sudo modprobe usdserial vendor=0x04fc product=0x2140

then sudo wvdialconf create

But wvdial reports no modem detected. Can you help me with this ?
