you seem to know your stuff ,just thought i would give you a shout to say "hello!!!!" i saw your replies to the modem post and this is some of the most complicated problems with linux ,that most users find(myself included).......are you a programmer? do you know c++ as your second language...lol...

Hi, I have an usb edge modem which I am trying to get it working via wvdial. lsusb shows my modem and i tried these commands :
sudo modprobe usdserial vendor=0x04fc product=0x2140
then sudo wvdialconf create
But wvdial reports no modem detected. Can you help me with this ?
