Thanks, Handy, it's nice to know. I'm not around the forums as much as I once was due to personal commitments and a heavy load at work, but I still try to chime in with advice or an opinion when I can.

I was going to tell you "Good Call" in the thread (something about bugs and developers and lack of care and burnt toast and the likes), but the thread was closed.

So for great justice! Good Call there mate!

Hah, it was very funny watching many of the debates on the BY. Eventually, I was expecting to find the debate between creationism and the Flying Spaghetti Monster (for which we all know is the true king ).

I didn't really know much about the community until I head over into a debate. There you could really see true colors show. I learned a lot from the opinions given, which, weirdly, have helped me in life with other people (I own a repair shop along with my regular job, and it helped me understand people when they were angry).

Even better, it taught me how to insult better and still be within the law j/k

And as for posting on your own side, I have a habit of calling myself awesome to myself. I know it's true already though, so I don't have to often

I have participated in forums with no limits on content; two problems I encountered are:

    1. Lack of population, which equals predictability of regulars.

    2. Some people really enjoy being rude to each other, I usually find that repulsive.

The best of the BY provided great debate on interesting subjects, unfortunately the growing population of the forums added more users to the BY & they seemed to have the effect of adding to the already existent to some extend element of immaturity, which turned into an enormous amount of hard work in the mod's courthouse.

I found participating in the BY forum furthered my education in human nature.

It was so interesting watching religion (belief without proof/logic) fighting with science (which has no means to deal with anything that can't be objectified & measured). The tail chasing of those two can be wonderfully entertaining & educational with the right participants.

Aye, I miss the BY. At least then any subject matter could be discussed while the warning that "this is going to be a flame discussion" was implied. It was enjoyable to explore the ideas of others, which, by the way, is only possible in the BY because when more than one opinion is expressed, somebody always has to resent it.

Though, resentment is sometimes the only way to show somebody else another view on a subject.

Wow, I talk in circles a lot.

I have to say, kudos to your comments on the consumer paradigms, and the corporate brandwashing and consumerism damaging the Earth.

I've always found it pleasing to read your responses. They are so well laid out.

    Hey,
Frak's infraction was overturned by KiwiNZ, which is fine. I would have been more willing to work with him outside of the council if he had come across kindly, as you have. Thank you, I hope to see you around.
