Earlier I had some problems with 9.10 and you attempted to help--for that I thank you. I have two identical machines, one of which was 9.04 and one that I attempted 9.10 on. I did finally give up with trying to use ndiswrapper on 9.10 since it worked well on 9.04, and just for grins load in the alpha version of 10.04 (which is where I planned on staying for quite a while anyway). Well not only did everything else work, but I wanted to tell you that ndiswrapper came up immediately working with my D-Link DWA130 adapter. Now I have to decide whether to keep using 9.04 on the other or not!

I did not want to put this in your thread and confuse anyone else, that is why the PM. Again thanks for the support for myself and the community.

Hello again pytheas, I recently began using Ubuntu again. I upgraded to Jaunty and had to change the way I set up my connection. I'm still getting the problem with ndiswrapper hanging and my adapter will keep blinking. I asked a question about it on the forums again, and someone redirected me to you.

They said something about WEB 128bit -- what is that? I've Googled and haven't gotten anything computer-related. I think they mean WEP 128bit but I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing.

hi, found your post about ndiswrapper, this one:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...=broadcom+4318

thanks for the post, it is very useful, I am trying to get my wireless to work but when I run ndiswrapper -l it shows that ssb is an alternative, it shows the driver I installed and the device aswell, i tried blacklisting ssb and b44 but it still shows up, when I run sudo rmmod ssb it says it is in use by b44, I tried the command to see if there are any aliases for b44 or ssb but it didn't show any, can you advise me here?
