As I replied to Jonnes59 in a PM, I've mostly retired from the Ubuntu Forum - not because I am not as big an Ubuntu fan as ever, but because I'm also 'retiring' from work and many other things. I won't be nearly as active on the forums but fortunately there are many others here who have stepped up and know more about Grub2 than I do.

Me again and about Evolution - soory, I only touch base when I have a problem.

I raised a thread some time ago, again issues with Evolution and I have had others with the same problem reply to the thread, but no devs or people with tech capability..... I wondered if it was in the right place or you had any other ideas. This problem has become a real pain in the butt and is a hang on from 10:04

I'm not a boot issue expert but I will keep working on this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...3#post11051383 ) but if you have a chance, could you take a look. I just feel like the OP and some of the posters could take this in a bad direction without sound help.

Yes, I have done some searches too. The problem seems to be with 11.04. I have only found 1 developer fix. "Ian MacDougle" I think and the way he explains things I get the impression he was the developer on this build for Evolution. I tried his patch, the fix is in progress it implies, but I can't make it work and his site does not give contact details.

I have nothing else to add.

I am concerned that there are no replies.

Hell-

Thread #1690964 is closed, but i have a follow-on question. Should I open a new thread?

My situation is: Having just done a natty-server install consisting of two raids, the installer (on CD) failed when trying to install grub (or grub-pc). As a result, the system will not boot properly. Can you recommend a fix for this?
