Now I am faced with a new one. After my most recent change I attempted to create a new mdadm array (a Raid 0) after which I restarted the machine. After restarting, I could boot to grub but I was presented with a black screen. There was no network activity... Well, I figured out my last problem. Now I am faced with a new one.

After my most recent change I attempted to create a new mdadm array (a Raid 0) after which I restarted the machine. After restarting, I could boot to grub but I was presented with a black screen. There was no network activity (tested by pinging the static IP assigned to the machine). No response to keyboard commands (other than ctrl alt del), and no on screen notices by pressing esc. So I am not sure what happened.

I was trying to verify if my OS was installed correctly (it was installed on a softraid using mdadm) but, I can't pick it up. Which would really suck.

Some guidance at this point to where I need to go from here and how I should handle this without possibly breaking anything else would be great.

After booting into a live cd and checking the raid, I am not sure what to do from here. Everything appears to be clean, but I still can't get it to boot.

/var/log/ was not really of any use. Is there a good way to double check if grub has the right path? So I am installing a new server to replace the old.

I found that pnp4nagios is now located in /etc/pnp4nagios in 12.04 and the links of pnp4nagios in nagios.cfg must be changed, but the link:

localhost/pnp4nagios

gives error: perfdata directory "/var/lib/pnp4nagios/perfdata/" is empty.

What is strange is that I used in nagios.cfg:

host_perfdata_file=/tmp/host-perfdata
service_perfdata=/tmp/service_perfdata.


And I checked, and the folder is there and the permissions are ok.

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz × 2 , 4G of RAM.
I'm using it from time to time as a development OS for web sites. At the moment, I'm working on a Drupal 7 site, and I'm having trouble to make it work correctly. The issue is the speed and the heavy CPU load.

Although I have mpm-prefork activated, I can see only one apache process on launching localhost sites. Every local cms has a heavy load on CPU. Drupal takes both CPU core to 100%. WIth only one apache process. I don't understand what's going on. I've tried to change some apache settings in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf, but it seems that apache ignores it. Same with OP code caches like APC and Memcache. It doesn't make any difference at all.

Could someone provide an information of where to look for the possible solution?

I thought maybe it was because it didn't recognize the /boot path, so I installed /boot to a separate hard drive and the issue still happens.

But unfortunately, /dev/mapper/<uuid> doesn't exist for me, I have /dev/disk/by-*

So I am not sure where else to continue. I am sure if I disabled the RAID and just installed it to a single drive, it would no problem, unfortunately, I would like to be able to have the / path on RAID just incase.
