Hi m8, I read your post about install issues, screen rez and stuff. May I suggest a different distro. Give PCLinuxOS a go. I was having all sorts of problems with ubuntu and my screen/graphics drivers on my laptop. I tried loads of distro but PCLinuxOS was the only one to get it right.
