Can anyone recommend a good graphics card that works flawlessly in linux?

Christmas is coming up, and there's no way in hell I'm getting an incompatible one. :D

Depends on what you're doing with it.

For basic usage, get a Nvidia GeForce 7300GS. It draws almost no power and will run Compiz beautifully.

For mutiple displays, get a used Nvidia Quadro NVS290 from eBay. They can support dual DVI or VGA displays beautifully and are cheap secondhand.

For gaming, i'm out of the loop. I have heard the ATi Radeon 4650 is the new must-have card.
