ok, i have kubuntu 8.10,
ive recently switched my PNY geforce8500gs video card to a XFX geforce9800gt, expecting the huge upgrade of a card to make a noticeable difference on framerates of games i play, however, i see very little difference, other than a very slight framerate increase and more constant framerate, (which IS a good thing).
i know the computer recognizes that there is a new card, because when i go into the nvidia x server settings, it says that i have a 9800gt now, instead of the 8500.
is there something i need to do to get this card to work to its full potential, which i know its not right now?
here is my hardware specs:
