I succesfully connected to my work's vpn from home using the network applet in gnome. But, I use Blackbox day to day, not gnome. Is there a convenient tool (cli or gui) that can bring up and down a pre-configured vpn connection? A link to a howto of some sort would be much appreciated.

I did find pptpconfig, but it hasn't been updated in over a year, and isn't in an Ubuntu 8.10 compatible package. With the sources two years old, I haven't bothered going through the "./configure && make" process yet.
