after getting a 4G sd card for more storage I figured I could afford to shrink the 8.04 partition 4G and dual boot with 8.10. It just works. [save the usual stuff] I prefer to shrink partitions with G-parted and load to the largest unused space. it always works as I expected. then the one line of code to get the sound going, www.medibuntu.org for all the DVD and codec, and lastly flash 10. now just waiting for the 128 updates to finish.

Thanks for the advice. Everyone here is wondering what is either possible or not with this little new thing. I read in the forums that people succeded to do almost everything that would work in a regular i386 pc.

Nevertheless, I tried to install some .deb packages from the intrepid repository (the network manager 7, by the way), and got an error like "non 386 architectute- abort".

so far I have not done any deb packages save the flash 10 from adobe
I would assume not every thing is compatible yet but all the medibuntu went w/o error.
sounds as if an argument in the package has not been updated
