Laggy STEAM CLIENT

The Steam Client is a bit laggy. I'm installing CSS right now through it, but is there any way to fix the bit of lag I'm getting?

For example: I highlight "Counter Strike" by clicking on it and it highlights it after a second. Just things like that.

This is a known issue for the wine devs and i would assume there is no work around at least i havent seen one yet.
