This really isn't an Ubuntu question, but I figured this would be the best place to ask it.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 (with Ubuntu of course!) and I'm going over to the UK and Germany in a couple months and taking it with me. What sort of power adapter do I need to charge it over there? The power adapter says it takes 100-240 volts/50-60 Hz, so I think that means all I need is a basic power adapter so the plug fits into the socket over there, and not a voltage converter, but I'm not 100% sure. I just wanted to check and find out for sure so I don't go over there, plug it in and blow up my laptop. Thanks

You shouldn't need a voltage converter. I've used my dell in numerous overseas countries with no problems. I currently have it plugged into a 240 outlet and it works great.

you dont need any converters. the black box on the power cord makes sure that your computer is always getting the right amount of juice.

The poweer supply for the DELL like most laptops is for 110 - 220 Volt. You only would need a PLUG adapter for Germany and another one for the UK. You can buy these at places like RadioSh.....
