Hi,

I have configured software raid 10 using 4 hard disk. It was working fine, I encountered some problem with my mail server and could;nt fix it so I had to format my hard drive. When I tried reinstalling, it returned disk I/O error. I went deleting the existing partions on all the disk and tried to build raid 10 again. Now it gives me the Disk I/O error 5 which means either the CD/DVD is not working or Hard disk is faulty. I tried burning a new CD and also tried installing using different CD ROM however still it doesn't work.
raid 10 was performed using following link

http://www.howtoforge.com/install-ubuntu-with-software-raid-10

Please let me know if some one has the fix to it.

Thanks

What do you mean you get disk IO error 5? What were you doing when you saw this message, and what exactly did it look like?
