[SOLVED] 1525 speakers not working after update again!

Hi,

My computer has updated itself and now the speakers don't work. Last time the same thing happened I had to enter some code. If someone could tell me what to do that would be very helpful.

If at the same time someone could explain why the same mistake was made twice then that would be good as well.

Hi,not to hijack this thread or anything but i also have a 1525n with ubuntu 8.04 installed and it has just updated and i also now have no sound. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi henry, just to let you know i have found a soloution to this problem. If you follow the instructions on the dell linux wiki http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_8.04/Issues/No_Sound_After_Distribution_Or_Kernel_Upgrade and when it comes to the part about the kernal 2.6.24-17-generic alter the 17 to a 22 and that should work. well it did for me.
