does anyone knows how to install msn in ubuntu 8.10 or something like that....because I'm having trouble finding it. thanks

you cannot use msn, you can use pidgin that is already on your system.

You can use Pidgin to connect to the MSN network or you could use aMSN, it's in the repos.

Hi A bit of a newbie here... but in honesty I am not sure there IS an MSN client for Ubuntu, Per Se... You could try running it in "Wine". One issue there thought is that MS now packages MSN with the whole 'Windows Live' suite... and may not run in wine... you could go to oldversions.com and download an older version...
On the other hand, I use KMess (An MSN clone for KDE that also runs in Gnome) or you can use Pidgin, it will access quite a few of the messenger networks.

I don't believe MSN will let you sign on an older version of the software. They want you to use the latest and "greatest."
