I'm GNOME user, so at this time i give a try to Kubuntu 8.10 which is packed with the new KDE 4.1.2. But i'm getting disappoint with the lack of graphic, lagging all the time (moving window, typing, open the plasmoids, etc) :(

As in lspci, here is my graphic card info:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

I don't know what happened..does anybody has the same problem?
ah more info, i already turn off the desktop effects.

I have to agree. I used Windows Vista for 1 year on same system and the GUI was much better. It has all the symptoms of a poorly written graphics driver... just sluggish.

On 9.04 branch now, still slow - and hardware cursor problems.
