Eeepc display problems

We have an Eeepc model 701. My wife runs Ubuntu 8.o4 (Eeepc version) on it. When the machine runs through the charger, the monitor brightness icon constantly comes on and then goes off again. This goes together with the dimming of the monitor and a clicking noise. Could somebody please help. Besides that there might be a battery problem I do not have a clue.:confused:

Sounds like the power jack is loose on the motherboard.

Thank you. Anything I can do to fix it or do you think it is a repair job for Asus?
