You'll have to enable pop access within Yahoo, which, depending on your account type, might not be an available option. I used to have a Yahoo.com email address but abandoned that in favour of a yahoo.co.nz email address when I discovered that I could no longer access the yahoo.com account with Thunderbird/Eudora/whatever, but could with the yahoo.co.nz account.

You can also create a GMX.com (http://www.gmx.com) account and have it collect your yahoo mail for you.

Hi, I have problems with yahoo and thunderbird, too.
To set pop and smtp I followed the instructions on yahoo mail (options, pop & forward). The ingoing mail is ok, but I cannot send, the smtp does not work. I've tried to change all the parameters, but nothing seems to work..

Do you have any idea?
Thank you!
