Hey,
I've been having a problem since installing Hardy where every so often my totem player gets really slow (like 1 frame a second - with no audio). Logging off and logging back on will fix it. I think the problem may surface whenever I switch from watching embedded media - such as youtube, to watching something through totem, though I'm not sure. I have a lenovo T61. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Yes I have the same problem, but it only happens for me if I have firefox open at the same time.

Try to exit firefox. And if it still does not work, can you post the output of

ps -A

And do it before you enter firefox again. While you are trying to watch something.

Have you tried installing VLC from the repos and seeing if that makes a difference?

Also, how much RAM does your box have? Processor type/GHz?

Closing Firefox seems to make the problem go away - but that's still a very annoying thing to have to do every time...
I have VLC installed, but totem still has the same problems...

Well, I have that problem too. But now I use SMplayer and have no problem at all watching x264 and firefox open :P
