Hi, anyone care to suggest a good PCI twin tuner card, preferably low cost, that I can get easily and will work in the UK on freeview?

To give a little bump, I am actually browsing the forums looking for this info as well, albeit for the US cable feeds - not UK...
Any info or posts to view would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hi,
Are you looking for an analog or digital tuner? (Sorry but I don't know what freeview is).
If it's analog then the best card is the PVR-500 (Dual analog tuner with hardware encoding).
For digital (DVB-t,s,c) I'm not sure of any that are supported under linux. A good place to look for tuner info is http://www.linuxtv.org

I've seen some people report problems, but I've found the Nova-T 500 works for me with minimal tinkering. I'm in the UK too.
The only thing I needed to do was enable the onboard LNA as detailed here:
http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-NOVA-T-500.
Apart from that I couldn't get repeat keypresses, but that's only a minor niggle that I overcame by using a homebrew IR receiver.
It's been rock-solid as far as I can tell for the last 3-4 months. I haven't got auto-shutdown working yet, so my backend runs 24/7 and has been up for a max of 20 days without any problems from the card.
