Hi to all of you here.
That's my very 1st post in here)) And - if any - I do beg your pardon if smth's wrong with my English here ;)
So, the problem I have is that it looks like I can't upgrade my lovely 8.04 to 8.10 from that free CD i've gotten from Canonical:(

There on the site of Ubuntu it is said (ommiting the steps about burning a CD or mounting an ISO):

3) A dialog will be displayed offering you the opportunity to upgrade using that CD.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the upgrade dialog is not displayed for any reason, you may also run the following command using Alt+F2:

gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"

So, there was no dialog when i've run that CD. Neither was any when i've tried to run that gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade" - just no activity appeared:(
So - what should I do if it's anything possible to do in such case? Yes, I know I can upgrade from the inet - but I'm not on the umlimited inet connection and - why the heck I should do that thru the inet if I've got a CD??

You must use the alternate install CD -- can't do it with the Shipit live cd
