Hey everyone. Newbie here, and im sure these threads get posted all the time but every one I have checked have been minorly different from what I have experienced, so heres whats up.

I'm trying to install Ubunutu 8.10 on my AMD Turion X2 Notebook made by ASUS.

The first problem I encountered was that when I tried to run anything from my Ubuntu CD the screen would go blank and I couldnt see anything. After some researching I got around this problem by installing using ACPI=off and noACPI.

So I properly installed and configured the setup of Ubuntu but now the issue is that I can not boot into Ubuntu without my screen going back.

So, how do I get around this new-age BSOD :P.

If I left out any information let me know and I will try to supply it immediately.
