Restore Points?

I just recently got my ubuntu install exactly how I want it: Drivers, Addons and applications, desktop, etc. and was wondering how I make a restore point in Ubuntu 8.10 to secure this build.

I'm the type of person that likes to play around alot and would love if I had a restore point in case I fiddled a bit to close to the edge with something

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
