I got bored one day and decided to reformat my hard drive and re-install XP Pro. It works better with wireless WPA Enterprise Encryption which my university now uses. BUT I still have issues re-adjusting to Windows because I caught myself trying to install a .deb package using the Windows Command Prompt.

I noticed i try to map a network drive in windows using "/" instead of "\".
also when in windows termi..., uh, command prompt, I tend to type ifconfig instead of ipconfig. I think I once even tried an apt-get install...

I'm surprised you guys even found the Windows command prompt. It took me forever to find it, then when I did, I didn't know how to use it.

I still have XP installed because I need it for school. Logged on the other day, to try a cool windows-only bit of software, and tried to install the software using the terminal that was not in the gnome bar that was not at the top of my window. Then I installed the software and tried to start it with alt-f2. Lol.

My big 'D'oh!!!' when in Windows (or when using any editor other than Vim for that matter) is to edit a text file, then hit:
:
wq
To save and exit.

I try to scroll a backgrounded document by turning the mouse wheel when the cursor is over it. It works in Linux, but does not work in Windows. I also open the window manager menu to try and pin a window to the top of the stack; god, Windows users don't know what they are missing!

I always maximize the use of workspaces in ubuntu. When I try ctrl-alt-right in windows, I find myself still looking at the same screen. Aww! And then, no compiz cube? Get with the times MS!

My main fail of working with windows cmd prompt is typing ls or cat. I do this at least 10 times a day at work.

Been there, done that. In some cases, every few minutes. =)

There are several reasons to use Windows. For me, it's mainly in school, or when I need to open old access databases to edit.
I also can't use certain essay templates with Open Office.

I only use use Windows at work since I work on an account that only uses Windows. At home and professionally outside of work I only push open source alternatives.

School. Can't delete the partition yet. Anyway, it's so pervaded the landscape of computers that it's not really a big deal to delete a 10gb partition given the flexibility that it can give you. What happens if I need to use autocad at some point? I've heard that it doesn't work that well in wine.

That sucks that a lot of schools don't support Linux. :(

There's a (elementary and high) school here in the philippines that uses 80% linux (I think the remaining 20% are computers that came with XP, and it seemed like a waste so uninstall 20% of the computer's price)
Anway, I also ls and pipe in cmd. It's only Linux that promotes embracing the terminal. And I <3 the terminal already... but I can't really say the same on Windows, cmd is not as powerful. Windows relies heavily on the GUI, so the prompt isn't that important to me, except for removing viruses that really refuse to show in explorer.

I find myself highlighting in one window without hitting the ctrl+c and trying to copy with the middle mouse click all the time at work.
Drives me bananas some days.

I use Sam Broadcast to stream to a shoutcast server, unfortunately linux has very limited options for streaming music to a shoutcast server. So I am stuck with a dual boot.

I miss the excellent autocomplete of the terminal, just press TAB or TAB-TAB for auto complete or suggestions.
Windows autocomplete is nowhere in front of Linux's terminal. CMD Prompt has some basic suggestions, not at all helpful.
