Sound is not working in Java or Flash... what can I do?
Sound works on other things, just not these.

hey :) you could try installing flashplugin-nonfree.
and, make sure youve got the medibuntu repository in the software sources dialog System->Administration->Software Sources
and if that still doesnt work, check this out:

Just found another problem: It is not only java and flash. Sound only plays when battery is low and the system beeps to remind me.
My sound card is a Presario V6133CL. I cannot use sound at all. None.

hmm...im waaay out of my league here, but it sounds (duh!) like either the sound card is dead/not installed properly, or the problem is software related. Im gonna guess that the *beep* is the system speaker, which is nothing to do with the soundcard.
have you ever got sound, or is this a recent problem?
i know this is a dumb thing to say...but check all your volumes and mute switches... :)
