Virtual Box and speed tests that don't make sense

I have Virtual Box set up on my computer. I ran Speakeasy speed tests using the host, host plus 1 VM, and host plus 2 VMs. I have a 7 Mbps internet connection. I expected the Speakeasy speed test for the three configurations to total no more than 7 Mbps for each configuration; however, that is not what I got. The results are shown below in an attachment. Does anyone know why I would get these results?
