MySQL database deleted

Hi,
I'm sure you will all think I'm either an idiot or losing my mind (I wonder myself sometimes), but I swear one of my MySQL databases just disappeared. I did not delete it, I swear. It's just gone. Doesn't show up in phpMyAdmin, or in /var/lib/mysql. Does anyone have an idea about what might have happened (other than "your crazy, you must have deleted it and not realized it").

I have no idea if they are related, but there was another post recently from someone claiming that they thought Samba had managed to delete some of their files recently.
