Dear all,

Last week I finally kicked MS Windows out. The look through the open window of Ubuntu is very satisfying, as was to be expected. Only, there's one thing I can't resolve. During each session my internet connection dies out at least once. The only thing I so far know to reconnect my machine is to restart it, which is of course quite primitive. After restarting the computer, the connection is back.

I wonder what process during the restart phase reconnects my machine. Would it be possible to run that process without restarting?

I suppose my question is rather simple. I'm new in the Ubuntu landscape ...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Maarten

when your internet dies out, are you able to access your router page that time??(192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)

No, I don't get any connection at all ... In the meantime I figured out it's a pure mechanical problem inside my machine. Thanks for your help anyway!
