[SOLVED] kdemod4 is somewhat sluggish than kde4

I feel KDE4 smoother, faster and more responsive than KDEmod4. KDEmod uses more CPU and I experience stutter (while opening or dragging windows and general rendering) and after prolonged use it gets even worse. I initially thought it could be due to nvidia & xorg.conf settings. With the same settings and driver version, KDEmod is significantly slower than KDE. Is it just me?

KDE4 feels very light, especially when compositing/desktop effects are turned on, uses less RAM and CPU. Overall I'm very happy with my new KDE4 setup. I'm still getting used to KDE as I have been a GNOME user in the past. Great work devs!

I haven't tried the full KDE, & I won't.

I'm waiting for KDEmod4.2 64bit to make it into KDEmod's unstable repo' as it is apparently incredibly fast compared to the version I have installed.

KDEmod4.1.3 renders so slow on my machine that it is only good for familiarisation, as the display is too slow to be useful.

I too, use Xfce & Openbox/Arch on my other machine.

I'll be interested to look at 4.2 64bit KDEmod, though I think it will still be more than I need.
