Quake II

I installed quake2 and quake-data from Synpatic which works all fine, except for the mouse. The mouse is almost useless since it is waaay too choppy, I move the mouse a centimeter, the aim moves 400px left and sometimes it won't move at all. It's really laggy and weird. I've tried to change the sensitivity but it doesn't make any difference which is quite annoying as quake2 runs very smooth when playing with the keyboard.
Anyone who knows what the problem is? I've searched the forums but I only found a guy with the same problem, no solution...

EDIT: Got it working by changing videodriver from Open GLX to SDL. Odd, but it works and I'm happy. Time to kill!
