I have a disk that is getting all sorts of errors when I plug it in via USB. It says it can't be mounted, then dbus error; then another message saying wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock. From reading on the internet it looks like i need to run fsck. How do I run commands?

Is it a win formatted drive that needs to be cleanly shutdown - if so it's best to do so from windows. Does the error message you get give 2 possible methods of dealing with the issue?
