Hi there

I am try to create a ethernet alias on my eth0 connection: eth0:0

I can create an alias by doing the following

sudo ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.101.254

After that i can ping the ip, but as soon as I restart, this alias dissapears?

I have tried adding it to my /etc/network/interfaces file, but that does not seem to work

I am on Ubuntu 8.04

I need to set up a DRBL environment, and would like to have it on the alias

Thanks
