MS Virtual machine

is there a way to get MS virtual machine to run on ubuntu? if so how do i go about getting it to work.
i have the trial edition of VMware but its going to expire soon, i still need the use of XP and i know MS virtual machine might not be as great as VMware but it will help.

Not sure about MSVirtual machine, but ...

You have several viable options on Ubuntu.

First, VMWare Server is freely available. A second option is VirtualBox. Both can be configured to boot your physical hard drive :twisted:

ive downloaded and installed virtual box but i cant find any thread that shows how to actually get xp up and running. i dont have xp installed on my harddrive so how do i install xp in it? how do i run xp in it?

my problem now is that i cannot find virtual box. ive installed in checked my user name in users and groups but i cannot find the app.

It is in an odd location, for some reason the place it under system , lol.

I run Ubuntu 8.0.4.1 and Virtualbox is located at Applications>System tools...
If you still can't find it try pressing "Alt+F2" and type VirtualBox (type it exactly like that... it's case-sensitive).
