Apacer 4GB Flash drive .. Has Ubuntu 8.10 .. Ofcourse the file system is persistent .. Stores all your files and settings between reboots ..4GB is plenty of space to install many applications and carry files and other things.

I used the built in option in Intrepid to install it onto the flash drive.

20$ + 3$ shipping to anywhere in the US .. I can ship to other places too but shipping might cost u a bit more .. Let me know the place and I'll try to find how much shipping costs. I'll take Paypal.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Are you using the casper/casper-rw approach ?

Sorry I don't know what casper is.
I think I shouldn't say 8.10 "installed". Basically it lets u have a live session like a live CD but with a persistent file system. I just went through the Create USB startup disk thing in Intrepid.
Does that answer ur question?

Thx for the details. In fact, the "casper" is the ro filesystem (inherited from the liveCD), on top of which the "casper-rw" rw filesystem is overlayed using aufs. It is not a "real" installation, but it works quite well. However, a "real" installation on a USB stick is faster and able to manage the disk space much more efficiently.

Hi guys!

I bought the said Pendrive and I'm not sure if this is the right place to aske, but... can I somehow read the content of a Folder I created booting from it from... let's say Windows or another Ubuntu?

I imagine I have to mount something because on the drive I only see many files and a big file called "casper-rw" in the root folder...

Thanks!!

Javi.
