Hello everyone. I am trying LinixMint for the first time. I made a partition on my mac and i have an iso cd of Linix Mint, but when i tried to install it on my mac it stopped at 90% and said that GRUB was not working on my partition. How can i get it working? Or did i miss something while installing it? Please help me i really want to try this out and can't figure it out.

Do you mean Linux Mint?

When installing Linux, one of the steps is to install the bootloader software, in this case GRUB. I believe you'll have to reinstall the bootloader. This is a very simple thing, don't worry.

You may want to read more about GRUB and how to repair it. The simplest way is using Super Grub Disk - please see the link to my website in my sig, under software & security, grub tutorial ...

If this does not help, post back, will try to help again ...

I think GRUB somwhow conflicts with Mac's bootloader. My friend had the same problem.

No problem, someone suggested you may get better help in this sub-forum :)

Unfortunately this bug exists in Ubuntu, though it is not as detrimental.

If the system did indeed install, then you should be able to install GRUB to the root partition and it may work. It would also be hopefully if you installed rEFIt before continuing. See this thread for information on the problem and Ubuntu. It may be helpful in determining what is needed.
