I'm a new Ubuntu user. Anyways I installed 8.10 prefectly on my HP dv6000 laptop. Worked out and fixed my screen reso and wifi card. The problem is when ever i boot into Ubuntu the loading screen sort of hangs up. I have to hold down a button for it to continue. Also I tried putting it into hibernate and it wouldn't wake up. Is there any advice or way to fix this? Sorry if this is the wrong form. Thanks

What button do you need to hold down?

Also, try diabling Usplash as this is sometimes the culprit. It will also show you the line at which the computer is freezing during booting. If you could post that line here, that would help a lot.

I just normally hold down the esc or space bar. How would I disable the thing?
