View Full Version : [ubuntu] Toshiba Satellite laptop - how to "restore" original recording device

Hi - I have a Toshiba Satellite, model A215-S6804 (approx 1 year old). Am starting to record interviews, so I went into the "Sound" settings, on the "Recording" tab there was an indication as to what the original microphone was. In my exploration via either the "configure" or "properties" button, somehow I managed to "remove" this (although I never performed a "delete"). Anyway, the "default" microphone option that was there, is no longer showing there. I then took an external mike that I had, and plugged it into the right-hand jack (there are two jacks in the front) and that one now registers. How do I get the original microphone option back? I want that flexibility as I'm not sure which microphone I want to go with. Thanks!
