Problems with Usb-Creator
Hi,
I'm trying to use Usb-Creator. I am running it on Ubuntu Intrepid 64 bit.

The problem I have us that, although it appears to format and setup my 2Gb thumb drive it does not create a bootable system (from an i386 iso). The target machine complains that there is no bootable partition in the table.

Anyone any thoughts on where to go from here?
This is fun

I was thinking about that. If I post off-topic, I am, in a way, on topic, therefore against the rules. If, however, I post on topic, I am off-topic, and therefore on topic. And so on and so forth.

Ya know, I don't think it's possible to actually reply to this thread in a way that would actually be "off topic", since the whole point in the thread is to write off topic, which would thus be on topic.

So, to truly write off topic, would that require writing on topic?

What is on topic?

Would that be replying to the previous thread on the same subject?

Would that be hijacking the thread?

Should we add rule #2 for no hijacking?

In 1939 and 1940, 36 former 1903 Stock cars were converted. For the conversion, the passenger saloon was removed and the two cabs were joined together. The first locomotive, ESL100, only had three bogies but later locomotives were built with four bogies, the centre bogie being used to carry the de-icing equipment. Locomotive ESL103 was withdrawn in 1953 as the result of an accident. ESL107 was the last to be withdrawn, the latter being preserved by the London Transport Museum.

This is hilarious...

This is starting to remind me of one of my favorite Simpson's episodes. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22_Short_Films_About_Springfield)

Lou: You know, I went to the McDonald's in Shelbyville on Friday night-

Wiggum: [interrupting] The McWhat?

Lou: Uh, the McDonald's. I, I never heard of it either, but they have over 2,000 locations in this state alone.

Eddie: Must've sprung up overnight.

Lou: You know, the funniest thing though; it's the little differences.

Wiggum: Example.

Lou: Well, at McDonald's you can buy a Krusty Burger with cheese, right? But they don't call it a Krusty Burger with cheese.

Wiggum: Get out! Well, what do they call it?

Lou: A Quarter Pounder with cheese.

Wiggum: Quarter Pounder with cheese? Well, I can picture the cheese, but, uh, do they have Krusty partially gelatinated non-dairy gum-based beverages?

Lou: Mm-hm. They call 'em, "shakes."

Eddie: Huh, shakes. You don't know what you're gettin'.

Wiggum: Well, I know what I'm gettin': Some doughnuts.
[He struggles to get out of the booth]

Wiggum: Uh, help me out of the booth, boys.
[Lou and Eddie pop Wiggum's booth with their forks]

what exists doesn't exist if it could only exist in an alternate reality, yet our present reality fails to falsify the pretense that that which exists in other dimensions cannot simultaneously exist in our own; ergo, that which exists in this universe may or may not exist in another universe, as such, in that it is what it is there and here. in other words, it simultaneously exists and doesn't exist in all realities.

I will have to agree with you on this (for a change). :p

Although you did fail to mention the the types of alternate realities such existence can and will exist in. If it be the first plane of existence, than such existence can only exist due to the nature of this universe. since the universe is infinite, then by probable cause, something that doesn't exist must exist due to the fact of the size of this verse. If it be the second plane of existence, then something that does not exist may not exist with the exception of its existence. This plane calls for an alternate dimension of our own universe (which no longer can be called a universe since there is the possibility of there being multiple verses. hence stating and fortifying the theory of the multiverse). If such existence is to exist in the 3rd plane of existence, then there must lie a section of non-space that contains an alternate to all the alternates, in an infinite manner, hence the multiverse would be infinitely large in number of verses, dimensions, and -branes) consider this equation: 2x(...((infinity^infinity)^infinity)^infinity)^inf inity....). Thats how many times such existence may or may not exist (a binary coupling) in any given plane of existence, of any given verse, of any given galaxy, of any given, solar system, of any given, body in space.

Thank you

the oil scene's pretty funny, collecting from teens, hair combs, etc.

another funny in the danger dan scene that may not be so obvious is how it pokes fun at white people, too... the guy was a scrawny li'l white guy dressed totally geeky (of course in a "protective" suit lol). the other guys obviously understood the comic value of the scene, else they wouldn't have done it. :D

1st time i saw the kitchen scene - mother losing limbs, kitchen parts, etc. - was the funniest. it's always fun to watch again.

(kfm is probably one of my fav. comedy movies)

the kung fu feature presentation - a la bruce lee's "enter the dragon" - had me crying-laughing. i wonder if anybody has done a comparison, running scenes simultaneously, between the 2, like on youtube or something.

Oh, and the kung-fu movie genre spoof. ("...(and here we have) Hyung Wai Lo ... Lo Wang ... and Enormous Genitals...")

and the facial expressions on the main character (the bruce lee-type guy). :)
