Hello,
I would like to suggest that the inter-relationship between the mailing list and the forum be improved. I suggest that we connect a person who BOTH sends mail to the ubuntu mailing list AND who posts in ubuntuforums via his profile.

This may mean:
1.Sending mail to the mailing list will influence number of posts (or at least having a separate number for posts/emails in the mailing list (mailinglist sub-forum

2. Clicking a person's name in the Ubuntu Users Mailing List Thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=6) will take you to his ubuntuforums.org profile. This can be perhaps be automatically done if the system just checks the originating email address of the emailer and the email registered on ubuntuforums

3.Making it possible to use the same handle in both the mailing list thread in ubuntuforums, and the other forums on ubuntuforums. This may mean that ubuntuforums automatically converts the real name someone uses to send mail to the mailing list to his forum nickname. Again, perhaps this can be an option for those who would like it, while keeping this option off for those who don't want to connect the 2. For those who want to have just one nickname, again, perhaps, the computer systems can just verify that the email addresses are the same.
