OOo Menus

I just have this very strange problem with OpenOffice.org menus(applies to Opera browser as well).

If set Visual Effects to Normal or extra, i cant see the OpenOffice.org menus. It appears like this:View Attachment


but if set to none I can see the menu. Any solution to this problem? I suspect that I'm missing some xorg configurations but still a newbie, can't figure it out.
