Just as the title suggests, does anyone have any good tips for managing my cpu clocking? Not necessarily overclocking, but for windows, I used RMclock to keep my laptop cpu at full throttle while plugged in....i'd like to do the same with ubuntu. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

GNOME power manager does a good job of that.
im sure KDE has a power manager that works the same way.

There is an applet you can add to your panel.

it's called "CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor"

(i've attached a screenshot for you)
