installing gnomesword problem

I'm having problems loading gnomesword. I have installed it via Synaptic Package Manager its added it to the Applications Accessories menu however after clicking it nothing happens. Any help much appreciated. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10

have you tried to open it via terminal? If there is any problems you should see the output in there.

I get the error "error while loading shared libraries: libsword.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I had an old version of sword loading which was stopping libsword.6 loading so causing the problem. After uninstalling the old sword I reloaded gnomesword and it worked.
