https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CairoDock

should answer a lot of questions...

binbash

but you have to go to official site and download plugin package from there since it is removed from official repo

which is essentially what the above does.

(it driects you to use the actual cairo repo's, as the one in the actual ubuntu repo's is ancient).

There is an intrepid repository- What I did was note that the repository for hard is:

deb http://repository.cairo-dock.org/ubuntu hardy cairo-dock

so I entered deb http://repository.cairo-dock.org/ubuntu into firefox. You will the see a folder dists and in it their are 3 folders, gutsy, hardy, and intrepid, So intrepid is a valid repository. Simply replace the hardy with intrepid.
