Getting my Echo MiaMIDI running in Ubuntu Studio 8.10

Hello, all! I just got Ubuntu Studio 8.10 working, and as much as I was hoping that the installer would autodetect my sound card and install the driver for it, that didn't happen, and now I'm left with manually installing it. Short of downloading the source packages from the ALSA web site and compiling by hand (something I've done before successfully when I had my Emu 1212m), is there a way I can install the appropriate driver for my card?

Never mind, I got it working now. I just went ahead and went the long way and compiled the latest ALSA. Everything works, including MIDI, though I am getting a lot of crackling using real-time softsynths, even at high latencies. That's another issue, though.
