I don't know how to do this with ubuntu. How do i?

You can't. Jad is a descriptor file for mobile phones, indicating, where is the Jar to be downlaoded and updated.

You can use jadmaker script (which is part of gammu). If you do not want to install entire gammu (e.g. your phone is not supported by gammu) you can download sources and there you'll find jadmaker script itself.
