why cant i play soldat?

hi guys i have a problem. i have installed soldat through wine and it works. however it is really slow and laggy. i have set all things to the minimum and it is still really slow. i have an amd athlon 1800+ xp 1.5mhz cpu, 1gb of ram and a 128mb graphics card. according to the website i should be able to play without lagging but i cannot. can anyone tell me ho i can play without lagging. i use ubuntu 8.10.

it's slow because Wine has performance problems with this game.
